Convert videos to view on your iPod

iSquint is an iPod video conversion app. It’s up to 5 times faster than Apple’s method, works well with AVIs and MPEGs, and it’s infinitely free-er.It’s also rather easy.Drag in your file, click “Start”, and away you go. You can even set screen-size and quality preferences. On a 1.5GHz G4, iSquint can convert most video files to iPod-screen-sized videos in realtime. Depending on a few factors, a 20 minute video will take up anywhere from 50-150MB of disk space.

iSquint – iPod video made easy.

Stopping spam on Wordpress

The TomorrowToday blog is getting spammed of note so time to stop that. The solution is Spam Karma 2.0 as well as upgrading Wordpress (from 1.5 to 1.5.2 – very easy). Didn’t take too long and pretty simple too.

Irritating high school teachers

http://www.knowledgenetwork.co.za/partnerschools/roosevelthigh.htm

“A year ago I was ready to give up teaching computer technology to high school pupils. Some knew absolutely nothing and I did not have time to help them because there were those pupils who thought they knew everything and spent their time messing with the computers (hackers).”

Isn’t it nice to know that stuff you did in high school accomplished something?

Setting up pop access for gmail

I’ve just done that for my gmail account – hooray – by following these instructions. Not that it actually works yet, because pop.gmail.com doesn’t like accepting my connection. Odd.

You need to enable it from the gmail side (follow these instructions).

And yes, I’m back in email contact, trying to put out fires all over the internet. Fun stuff, this!
