Controlling VLC remotely

VLC is an open source app (Windows/Mac/Linux) which lets you play just about all media (I use it on my Mac more than quicktime). What you may not know is the built-in extra control options via telnet or the web (it listens to port 8080 but this interface has to be explicitly enabled). I’ve been investigating controlling multiple pc’s remotely so I can use them in live multimedia production setups. Engadget shows how.
