MacGeek

Ever since chatting to Carly at the first 27 dinner I realised that my blog needed a facelift. So I pulled out an old design I was working on during BarCamp Jozi and fitted into my current layout. It looks a little like the standard “Kubrick” theme – just a little funkier. If there’s enough demand (read: 3 comments) I might just make it for public release.

    I’d love to see this theme released… It does some things I want to take a look at for my own site (which is admittedly minimalist at the moment).

    Coool site dude… I have been using mac for 8months now and I’m not planning on going back but my problem is that I find their ram a bit expensive, can you tell me why is that? and if you know where I can find it cheaper plz let me know…

    @Teekay: ja, “authentic Apple” RAM is more expensive than generic RAM…but the good news is, memory is memory. So if you get the right spec’d memory, it’ll work fine – just phone up your nearest computer store :)

    Cant seem to connect ibook G4 to my telkom adsl. driving me mad as I need to set up the vox Phone.
    Please if you know of any Mac tech in Durban who can sort this out I would be extremely grateful.

    @Lew: your best best is to phone Telkom – they’re usually pretty good at helping you connect laptops to the internet. It’s probably best if you’re plugged directly into the modem using a network cable. Then you need to configure the modem – something like http://10.0.0.2 with username ‘admin’ password ‘admin’ usually gets you into the modem. Then you need to setup your Telkom ADSL username and password inside the modem config. Then save and restart the modem. Only then you’ll be able to connect to the internet.

    Hey,
    I deleted some music files from an external hard drive and now I cant remove them from my trash because it says that the files are locked… Do you know how I would go about fixing this? Or can u suggest who I can speak to in Cape Town???
    PLEASE can you Help??

    @Sarah, right click on a locked file in your trash and choose “Get info”. Under “General” there’s a “Locked” checkbox – untick it…and you’re good to go! The shortcut for “Get info” is Apple+I and if you’d like to do it on multiple files, use Apple+alt+I
